Graycliff Partners Announces Sale of Electro-Mechanical LLC

Graycliff Partners LP today announced the sale of Electro-Mechanical LLC (“EMC”), a leading manufacturer of engineered electrical equipment, to funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. (“Oaktree”), a global investment manager specializing in alternative investments.

EMC was family-owned for over 60 years before partnering with Graycliff in 2021. Since then, Graycliff has worked with management to transform the company into a leading power grid infrastructure platform with a widely recognized brand and a broad portfolio of innovative power products. Graycliff guided the company through several strategic initiatives, including bolstering its sales function, expanding the company’s footprint with the addition of a 110k sqft facility in Mexico, diversifying the supply chain, and completing the strategic acquisition of Mirus International, a Toronto-based manufacturer of power quality products.

Andrew Trigg, Managing Partner at Graycliff, said, “It has been a pleasure to work alongside Howard and the team at EMC to build upon the company’s impressive history and strong reputation. We believe the company is well positioned to capitalize on continued opportunities in the power space and are happy to have found a partner in Oaktree that has the resources and expertise to support the company’s next phase of growth.”

“Graycliff has proved an invaluable resource,” said Howard Broadfoot, EMC CEO. “Their guidance was instrumental in achieving rapid, sustainable growth and optimizing the company for future success, while maintaining our company’s family culture. We are looking forward to partnering with Oaktree to further grow the company in the years to come.”
