Graycliff Announces Strategic Combination of Republic and T.F. Ehrhart

Graycliff Partners LP announced today that its portfolio company, Republic Electric Company LLC (“Republic”), has combined with T.F. Ehrhart Company (“TFE”), creating one of the largest HVAC equipment distributors in the Midwest.

Republic, headquartered in Davenport, IA, is a leading distributor of HVAC and electrical systems, serving contractors, industrial, and OEM customers. With six branches across Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, Republic offers over 40,000 products, including HVAC systems, switch gear, controls, lighting solutions, and related tools from brands like York, Luxaire, Bosch, Mitsubishi, Square D, Acuity, and ABB. The company also provides value-added services such as logistics, cribbing, training, marketing, and technical support.

TFE, based in Quincy, IL, distributes residential and commercial HVAC equipment and parts from brands such as Luxaire, Bosch, and Samsung. Operating out of four branches in Illinois and Missouri, TFE serves a diverse base of heating and cooling contractors.

The combined company is now the largest distributor of Johnson Controls HVAC equipment in the Midwest. “This merger is a natural fit,” said Todd Wade, CEO of Republic. “By combining our resources and expertise, we can offer customers expanded product availability, deeper technical support, and enhanced logistics.”
